Stimulus conservatives’ doom prophecy: A win-win situation:

If the stimulus works, the United etates public will be so ecstatic that those prophets of doom would be ignored, or entirely forgotten. Those conservatives who promised doomdon’t stand to lose anything. 

In the unlikely event that the stimulus package will fail, the country as a whole would be devastated and would run to those who predicted failure and  declare them instant pundits, geniuses, gurus, or whatever other platitudes one may elect to use, who could and would fix the problem.

A win-win situation for the naysayers, the conservatives. Should the stimulus work, everyone wins; in the unlikely case that the stimulus fails, the conservatives will be called upon to fix the problem,  and to run the country; the doom predicting conservatives can not lose.
